This study is nearly useless in its practicality. Why not create a study testing if certain methods/practices have improved patient outcomes instead of focusing on solely biological gender. I can change the way I practice but I can’t change my biological gender. #stoptribalism

Some traits and ultimately the behaviours are directly related to your gender so there’s nothing personal and this study is NOT useless.
-
Would you then also find useful a study testing the patient outcomes between two different doctors’ ethnicities? If so, how?
-
That would be an interesting topic for research. Would you like to suggest a hypothesis for that research?
-
That doesn't answer his question

Imagine the outcome if the news story said the opposite. Plain sexist garbage. It all depends on the personality and training of the doctor, not the gender.

Read the full article. Learn how research works. They aren’t just using anecdotes, they are studies with a massive sample number. It’s just what the research shows, and they aren’t dismissing that men can be great doctors too.

Women seem to have so many abilities that make them more suited to the modern workplace than men; particularly with regard to emotional intelligence and lack of a crippling ego. Cool studies!

Pure sexism and nonsense.

The problem is not sexism it's the way we educate our kid. If we teach them to "not cry like a girl" and "be the man of the family" if it's a boy, then of course when they will become men they won't listen as much as women do. Men raised like that tend to think they know better
-
They tend to think they know better without us to explain how we feel. However we need to tell them that to have an appropriate prescription. Same for women. They tend to listen more because when they were girls they "play with dolls" and help in "household maintenance"
-
my examples are clichés and exaggerated but unfortunately A LOT of people are raised like that. We need to tell and SHOW our boys that listening, caring and opening up is good and NOT "feminine things" !!!!! PS : And thanks to
@justinbaldoni who tries to do that

That's sexism. A dangerous precedent. To listen more or be attentive to someone is a personal trait not a sexual or gender one.

A slice of the better outcomes may also be attributable to the benefits patients get when they step outside gender stereotypes and seek the best professional help they can get, subject to fewer constraints.

Imagine being an extremely contentious male doctor and being slurred by this? Isn't this a generalization like racism? This type of generalization also has economic impact. What makes people feel so comfortable to make such generalizations?
