It's time for a new economic system. There was only one brief period --1940s-early 1970s--in US capitalism where workers (white, male workers) earned a living wage. It's time for an economy that serves the needs of the people (and the planet).

We really need to be mindful of that. In so many ways we are already facing the consequences of a culture that prioritizes short-term gains over long-term sustainability; and it’s only getting worse. What kind of future are we leaving for our children?
