Her excuse of making people feel “safe” does not make sense. The issues are very real issues and really need media attention not close the door.

Can you put yourself in the shoes of an immigrant who would like to have their voice heard in such a forum — during an era where the state cages their children — for even a split second? Does it make sense to you then?

Umm...what would it matter if the media was there or not..? If it’s known that immigrants will be the topic, ICE could be waiting outside regardless of media being present or not. Media doesn’t mean cameras btw newspapers have articles and do not need photos.

That may not be their understanding tho. If the woman is as in touch with her constituents as we believe, it may be clear to her that media attention or notes of record might make many of them feel unsafe or uncomfortable, or restrained.

How..? If someone is there with a notepad among the crowd jotting down notes or even has a tape recorder then how would they be known. Plus I’m sure they record the whole event anyway. They are in a public place with a government official how does that make them comfortable?

Precisely why she’s inducing additional comfort by closing the event to press, for those that might be skittish to the idea regardless of the reality + particulars regarding how the press engage with the event. This is a diverse crowd w/ very different relationships to media...

“Criticized” 🤣🤣 you are very mild with Cortez. What if a Rep candidate would exclude press? Your headline would be Trump should be impeached 🤣

So you'd be ok with Trump walking in on you when you're getting changed or grabbing you by your 🐱 uninvited? How about him taking away your health care? Let me call him, he'd love to meet you. Maybe you'll be Space Force commander?

Ahhh so this is the shit centrists are getting all worked up about 🤣🤣🤣. Hillary just had a private event with no press as well and no one bats an eye yet she's everyone's favorite presidential candidate loser. The irony.
