I never found Seinfeld funny in the slightest. Watched his show for a couple minutes once and then never again.

Jokes might not be literal statements of a comedian’s opinion, but they do reveal what the comedian thinks is funny, who they are willing to throw under a bus to get a laugh, and what kind of people they like to laugh with.

Comedy has always sold at least someone or something short. Without it, would comedy even exist? Life is too finite to fret over jokes, the sounds one persons mouth makes should have no barring over anyone elses lives.

No one is telling comedians never to make fun of anybody. It's about punching up rather than down. Making light of a vulnerable group, or violence against that group, normalises that violence. Comedians who are good at their jobs manage to be funny while punching up just fine.

In Canada that goes without saying. So often we tend to forget what other groups consider humour. we usually make fun of assholes or groups of assholes. Never the vulnerable or the figurative 'little guy'

There has to be some facts to jokes for them to be funny and jokes have to make sense or have irony to them.

Comedy is inspired by real life. How come you as professional fail to mention that?

.@JerrySeinfeld is an idiot. The purpose of humor is to bring the truth, particularly about ourselves, to light. Never could watch his show either - just about a bunch of really unpleasant people getting what they deserve.
