"America. It was never that great." Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York mocked President Trump's slogan. The president quickly struck back.https://nyti.ms/2BgyHgP

Democrats need to stop ceding patriotism to the Republicans. America has flaws but it *is* great. Cuomo made a major mistake here. That clip will play in every Republican campaign ad against Cuomo throughout the rest of his career.

Do you people know the difference between "great" and "perfect"? America is a great country that is currently going through a dark time. Cuomo really put his foot in it and your literal-minded sanctimony doesn't change that.

Oh and lets not forget freeing the know world from totalitarianism, facism, and national socialism in the 40s or the 500,000 men dead to free those slaves. Selective memory folks. Its bad.

It is probably greater after Cuomo renames the new Tappan Zee bridge as the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge. Wasn’t that enough? Maybe when he defends being the second highest tax state even though MA has moved to the middle of the pack; still not enough? Broken subways; that do it?

He did well with colleges and gun control, but his marijuana as a gateway drug is just wrong. The quote was taken out of context since it was to help income equality fight.

Really? Is there somewhere that information is available. It's a long process to get handgun permit in NY and NYC carry permit is ridiculously difficult.

Mostly safe act stuff. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/06/23/gun-group-cites-low-compliance/29193905/ … https://www.forbes.com/sites/frankminiter/2015/06/24/nearly-one-million-new-yorkers-didnt-register-their-assault-weapons/ … in terms of Handguns, yeah getting an NYC permit is a bootlicking process where you need friends in high places. Corruption aside, it's a process that makes legal owners go through hell.

America can be great if there is equity and parity for all. If we had universal health care for all, equitable and honest prison reform, fair and equal pay for equal work, free college...Denmark is doing this. America will be great once we start. Once the GOP puts ppl b4 profits.
