She's worked at a Catholic school for 15 years. But she was put on leave after school leaders found out she was married to a woman. “They showed me they had a copy of my marriage certificate, and let me know how it was going to play out."https://nyti.ms/2nFOtIk

You know where you work, and you know the values of that institution so don’t act surprised when you’re let go because what you’ve done doesn’t go along with their values

Values? She was employed to teach, not demonstrate marital relations. Though I suppose if she’d bothered to fiddle a few kids on the side that might have balanced things out for ‘em.

She taught in a catholic school and Christianity doesn’t condone same sex marriage. The bible talks about how even without meaning to, your lifestyle will influence the lives of those beneath you

It’s just like saying that you wouldn’t go on holiday to Dubai because of the Muslims It makes no sense

The question wasn’t about the religion it was specifically about the priests. No worries, I get it, I have family members that hold the same position as you.

If only they were as responsive to the pedophiles in their midst. Thousands of victims, years of coverup. But let’s dismiss a woman in a loving adult relationship. Despicable.

Suffice it to say, the Catholic Church should not be making moral judgements on anyone. Ever.

Same thing happened at @ParamusCathHS in NJ (full disclosure I graduated from PC). Seems it’s acceptable for priests to molest children but immoral for consenting adults to be committed to each other. Cannot even believe this is the church I grew up in #CatholicShame
