A report in 2011 warned of "intense decay" of the Morandi Bridge bridge. In 2012, the leader of Genoa's business federation said that there was a risk of collapse within 10 years.https://nyti.ms/2nDPJvx

Another achievement of the ‘brilliant’ EU policies of mass privatization of public services cause ‘free market works better’.Motorways management is a natural monopoly: they just helped to feed fat cats, caring only of profits, at the expense of public safety. And now people die!

It's got nothing to do with the EU, you moron. It's was purely an Italian government decision to have privately run toll roads. It's sickening that people like you are using the deaths of 35 people to advance your warped political agenda.

If you ignore that privatization of public services is promoted by EU regulations and directives, I can only suggest you to get informed before insulting people. Your ideas anyways already define yourself, you don’t need to lower yourself even more down.

The real jackals are those, included the lobbyists infested EU, who promoted these lassez faire criminal policies that led to Governments being replaced by corporations in taking care of their own citizens. Corporations only care of profit, not of safety, and now people die!

It is sad that people die in the manner and it shows that men are very fragile. Psalm 49:12 - But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish.

highways built with public money, then privatized, with toll costs increasing year by year and private individuals pocket hundreds of millions of euros without maintenance. near my city (Latina, central Italy) another bridge was closed because it was unsafe.

Flashing red lite that GOP will ignore. We keep pleading 4 fed govt 2 fix our crumbling infrastructure, create jobs 2. GOP promises, but won't do it. Instead, it gave our treasury $$ for infrastructure repairs back 2 wealthy 1% & rich businesses. Whose bridge is next 2 fall?
