One MoviePass super user has seen 156 movies (some repeats) since subscribing to the service in December. A new cap on service may put a dent in the habits of many subscribers and devoted users.https://nyti.ms/2Bb48cf

The fact that Moviepass is still operating at all is a miracle upon itself. You could write a textbook on how not to acquire customers and run a business based on their tactics. $HMNY

I Don't think it's a secret that this company can't survive on its own much longer...to me the gamble is if a big boy sees the value on the amount of subscribers these guys have and decides it's time to work out a deal $hmny

I don't understand MoviePass or other users when they complain that people used it too much. The offer was one movie a day. "Power users" didn't ruin it; the model was not sustainable. When MP dropped the price, I figured they must see how it can be done. I guess not.

Is this really the story here? Or is the story about a business which is lying to its customers and ripping them off on a daily basis, refusing to honor their cancellations, and just generally taking the piss?

They illegally re-subscribed me after I unsubscribed. Did this to many others too. They are robbing people and no films are available on their app now. #moviepassfail #moviepasssucks

I’m still confused by this. In France we have movie passes and I’ve never once heard any problems with it.

Moviepass was buying tickets at face value and then offering people unlimited movies. Numbers never really added up.

So it’s not something offered by the theatre? Because here you buy a UGC pass and then see movies at UGC whenever you like. Or whatever your preferred theatre is. I guess in America it would be AMC or Santikos.
