Kentucky's Republican governor said state workers who oppose pension reform are like drowning victims: “They’re fighting you, biting you, pulling you under. You just need to knock them out and drag them to shore."https://nyti.ms/2nAZcDQ

And then they leave for jobs where they aren’t treated like crap. The state loses the experience, knowledge and understanding of the job that new recruits take time to gain. The new recruits will be slower as they learn the job and the systems in place ....

Pt2. .... and all these jumped up politicians and senior management have achieved is increased recruitment, training & retention costs, increased overheads such as uniform, a slower employee as the learn their new job and the service user suffers along with the public purse!

Miss D if a politician ever has the credibility to impose the same restrictions that their staff have on themselves then I will need to see a medic for the most severe case of shock. #OneRulePoliticiansOneRulePublicSectorStaff

Why are that not seen as employees who accepted a job with a contract that included a reduced salary from the private sector and an agreement to forgo social security contributions on both sides in exchange for a living wage at retirement, asking what the hell

Typical Rep tactic. Let’s not fund pensions as we should then demand cuts because we gave their money away to tax cuts. Same thing in Congress, pass tax relief for rich then say we have to rein in entitlements.

If you are an ocean lifeguard, that’s how you save them... approach from behind, grab them hard, punch’em if you have to so they don’t pull you under while your trying to save them. Drowning people will always panic.. he is just making a point. Sometimes you have to force people

Recruitment and Retention issue? If you treat your staff like crap they leave! What is the benefit higher turnover (increased costs) and loss of experience (worst service for users).
