Elon Musk shocked both investors and consumers by tweeting he’s thinking of taking Telsa private. But his posts raise the larger question: Is Twitter the right forum for public company executives to disseminate market-moving information in the first placehttps://nyti.ms/2MogQZI

Yes Twitter is the right way to disseminate information. Form 8K is a relic from the times when trading was done on paper and investors were getting these flyers that certified stock ownership. In the era of electronic trading, social media sentiment, 8K is an anachronism.

Apparently twitter is the right channel for your president to fight against everybody and decides about foreign affairs. Public policies and threats has been discussed by him in this platform. Why there is a discussion around Musk’s case? #ThinkAboutIt

A dysfunctional or rubber stamp board allows"miracles" to happen. Scoundrels have in the past shown us how it is done. Poor investor always pays for the eventual consequence. Integrity has become a scare value.

If the “leader of the free world” feels entitled to broadcast policy decisions via tweets, Elon Musk must feel entitled as well.

No. It does not “raise a larger question”...it is clear: an unsubstantiated, impulsive tweet is not a legitimate method of first disclosure of material information for a publicly traded company
