The Department of Education has proposed replacing regulations on underperforming colleges with "market-based accountability" information on schools. But research indicates that information alone is rarely enough to affect educational decision making.https://nyti.ms/2MrVbjc

All free-market zealots conveniently ignore that markets do fail & fail often when there’s asymmetry of information, high level of social externalities & similar effects. This is Economics 101 that they ignore, hide or obfuscate. That’s why leaving education to markets is LUNACY.

"Market-based accountability" means, in common language, "let the students quit if they don't like the school's performance" That's pretty laughable! Let us member of the government's "market" terminate this government and install a new one. That is Market Based!
