Wow! Just when one was beginning to believe that S. Korea might really be a democratic society! Our MeTo Women leaders should support the women in S. Korea.

Looks like an affair to me. Not rape. Both culpable. If women want to be taken seriously, they can't keep playing the victim card everytime a situation gets awkward.
-
It's not an affair. There are other victims who did not come forward yet because of fear, since he's a powerful political figure. She came forward to stop him from sexually assaulting other women further, and to tell the truth. She is serious and is taken serious in every sense.

Having spent much of my life watching this happen in US due to the good old's boys system, I am sure patriarchy is the reason he was acquitted, not any real finding of truth.

Shortly after the incident was revealed, he confessed to Facebook that the argument of 'agreed sex' is not true, and it's all my fault. It has also been confirmed that he sent a message to the plaintiff 'Sorry, Forget'. The judge's decision does not consider any of these points

First, can you(everyone) be brave to your boss? Well I don't think so. He was a famous person with a fairly high status, and she had no choice but to be oppressed by his power. Second, in the past, Mr. Ahn wrote a confession 'she is innocent and I'm a sinner' but he erased it.
-
And a doctor's affidavit said there was evidence of her being forced into her body. However The judge didn't believe Ms. Kim, saying it lacked evidence and then the judge said he was innocent. She may be wrong but his sin was certain, and the judge 's ruling was not justified.
-
Rather, the second violence for the woman was getting worse in internet. So this(that he is innocent) is deceit and disregard for all women, and it will have an impact on Metoo. I'm not good at English but I did my best to explain what exactly was going on. Thank you.

DNC chair, Rep Keith Ellison (D-MN) is asked about hitting, yelling at and abusing a woman, he answers, he didn't have a relationship with her. That was not the question.https://www.vox.com/2018/8/13/17684222/keith-ellison-karen-monahan-minnesota-attorney-general-race …

Not that I have read all, but here's what's funny and interesting about the movement in S Korea. It's everywhere (universities, high schools, movie stars, TV, art, music, executive, judicial, legislative, political parties, companies...) EXCEPT, YES, EXCEPT IN JOURNALISM, MSM!!!

Your own article include the fact that there was evidence AGAINST the accusation. Isn't it normal that he'd be acquitted? That feminists movement rally behind the false accuser despite the evidence against her shows their hypocrite and partisan nature.pic.twitter.com/7RNDS6LO8N
-
"Partisan nature" says someone who probably never knew who this guy was and how to read Korean to the feminists who have been keeping track of the event and actually read a post from the accused guy himself saying it was not consensual and it was all his fault.
-
So feminists decided before trial that he was guilty (aka "kept track of the event") and no one else is allowed to speak? So if the guy confessed online, why was this not brought at the trial, or at least the NYT article? Why was there evidence of it being consensual?
-
Oh and there was a woman who took a man's nude pic without consent and uploaded online got 10 months of sentence while a medical student who used a hidden cam to take pic of 183 got indictment suspension because he had a bright future of a doctor and the court thought it was sad
-
While I agree such a sentencing is lenient, did he also upload them? You know, because if he didn't, then the damage to each victim is not the same.
-
I'm sorry but there was a website with a million users sharing hidden cam footages and revenge porns and it was there for 10 yrs because Korean authority didnt do anything about it for 10 yrs. Do you want more cases?
