"This is indeed a sad day and certainly no cause for anyone to celebrate," said John Shott, the Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. "But it is our duty, and I think the public demands it."https://nyti.ms/2B9jD4z

This is like what is happening in Poland now. As the Polish government moves toward authoritarianism, they are forcing out 40% of their justices. Guess the GOP in West Virginia decided to go for 100%. This is a blatant abuse of power in an effort to take control of the judicial.

If you had any intellectual curiosity, you would know that two judges from each party were impeached. If you're not outraged by the abuse of taxpayer money by any side, you must be a Democrat.

The public will get to vote in the next election. You'd prefer to keep robber judges in place because of politics. I guess you value power over justice.

U should stop telling other people what they think/value.UR not very good at it. I value the voice of the people and separation of powers. And in fact as outrageous as the spending was, there was nothing illegal about it. In WV the judiciary effectively controls its own budget,

The question is why not let WV voters elect their justices instead of having them appointed by the governor? Is it because you’re afraid that the “leftists”, coupled with independents, will come out and vote more democrats into the state Supreme Court?
