If you cannot apply the standard to yourself, you cede power back to the other side who will scoff at your hypocrisy, use your words back, and ignore you. Every great movement has a test of their values - this is that test. Make a good choice.

I refused to sleep with a coworker. Her friend, who was also my manager started writing me up for things I didn't do.

So sorry for what you went through- you are not alone... Not all of us can talk about these things yet- I admire those of you who do. There are too many stories like this.
-
You don't need to be sorry. I'm not. It's made me into a stronger person.
-
Yes, you're right- looking back I don't think I would be the strong independent woman (widowed mom of 14y.o. boy) I am today. We are stronger because we didn't let it take us over, and a sense of humor about life is a must. If I don't laugh... you know the rest!
-
I wish more people realised that overcoming adversity makes you into a stronger person before they succumbed to their pain.
-
Me too, I went through some awful crap from age four until my partner died 2 1/2 years ago, and I evolved into someone I started to like. Discovered that despite history as a hermit, wallflower, etc. I have some wicked people skills. Who knew- and had I succeeded, I wouldn't.
-
I know that feeling. It's only recently that I started to like myself, right after I started smoking pot to trick myself into believing that I could accomplish anything that I wanted. I envisioned a better life for myself and within a year, I had it.

I know, we sound like those Korean millionaires on late night tv: If you can dream it, you can do it- You too can have millions like me!" But it's actually a part of achieving wisdom- realising the control you can have over your life and making things happen.

Sorry folks but you can't have it both ways. Don't think for one moment that a woman can not harass a man. In fact because of the response men get when reporting it, they are even more likely to not report it than women are.

Well, that depends on the content of the case and the context. Every case should be judged on its own merit. That's why we have the judicial system. And presumably why the US does too. Right? Right... AKA

Are you saying that it’s “leveling the playing field” for women in power to harass men with impunity? Is that really what you call feminism?
-
Did you know that impunity rhymes with diplomatic immunity? Isn't the right to harass written into the first amendment? Or did your current administration grab that by the P**** too?
-
Assuming you ask in good faith. The 1st Amendment prevents laws being passed that creates legal punishment for speech/opinion. It does nothing to prevent people facing consequences for their actions. That means this professor as well as Trump. No one should get away with it.
-
Thank you for clarifying. Now, since Trump did first, shouldn't you deal with him first, before you go after the rest of us?
-
The rest of “us”? Do you also sexually harass people? There’s no way we can actually fix the systemic problem of harassers in power unless we address ALL harassers in power. If only those we dislike face consequences, it’s the people, not the actions, that are being punished
