Officials estimated that at least a million people in New York City could be hurt by a new rule in the works from the Trump administration that would make it difficult, if not impossible, for immigrants who use welfare benefits to obtain green cardshttps://nyti.ms/2KLdZFm

Oh, you mean illegal immigrants? That's actually a genius idea. Why reward criminals who are stealing from the American people? #theyhavetogoback

Imagine supporting the entitlement of illegal immigrants while hiring outspoken and unapologetic RACISTS belittling white US Citizens into their editorial board. #betterLearnToCode

immigrants in the 60s and 70s were not allowed to receive govt assistance. This would be a good law. go back to the old ways of USA.

Legal immigrants are NOT allowed to receive assistance. Sponsors MUST sign for that they won’t. It’s incredible what the liberal democrats do for voters!

If you are not a U.S. citizen and did not go through a legal process, you are not an immigrant, you are a squatter/intruder/loitering in our country. Please stop stealing our resources that were meant for people who were born here and came legally.

It isn't a 'new rule'---there are already regulations in place which prohibit immigrants who will be a 'public charge' to taxpayers--DO SOME REAL JOURNALISM FOR ONCE OR JUST CONTINUE WITH THE RIDICULOUS FAKE NEWS-

Legal immigrants already have green cards. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be getting benefits. If illegals are getting benefits, they shouldn't get a green card. Legal immigrants came hear with proof that they won't need welfare. What's your beef?

NYC is so crooked that I know people that travel here just to have their children and they don’t even pay a cent. They also receive WIC and when they are done they return to their home. 18 years later the child returns for a free college education.

Punishing need because someone wasn't born in the United States is arbitrary and inhumane. Of course, those in need born in the United States don't fair much better. The contempt shown those at the bottom and on the margins is matched only by the indifference towards them.
