Hard to get rid of sadness, death & poverty. But I have found some good things at goodwill :)

We have to give credit to these brave journalists for asking these hard questions. My theory is that the Russians collude with the Chinese to get that smell imported to undermine U.S. Citizens.

Maybe a musty smell from being packed away for ages . People hang onto stuff for ages before finally throwing it away, me included

My pet peeve - if you can afford not to shop at a thrift store don't....let ppl who really need things shop there. I knew I woman who wld shop the stores & resell on EBay. It was a game for her not a financial need.
-
The operation of the store is the charity. They teach people skills and give them job training. And sales support the charity. It is not a store exclusively for poor folks.
-
I should add your purchases at the store are like a donation to the charity.

More pulse-pounding, hard-edged "essential" reporting from the New York Times! Bravo! Encore!

I used to frequent thrift stores for items to paint, mosaic decoupage, or multi-object media... The sight of furnishings, dinner plates, cups, jewelry, baskets... made me high with visions of their possibilities. Now I worry about bed bugs and won't step foot in a thrift store.

@nytimes wonder why their readership is in the toilet when this is what they are publishing...? Maybe their journalist are also in the toilet - god only knows what they are doing to themselves in there (shudders)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Just re launder them. And if you can, hang them outside to dry. Not easy everywhere, but nature is a great deodorizer.
