        Here in Myanmar, they (the military) had ever said Myanmar people are supposed to wipe out colonial practices. However, they had copied the practices and applied the ways to prolong their unjustifiable military rules until now.

        The woman in Guerrillas is based on a real person; also what happened to her, real event. Naipaul's wife, a Muslim, said that he, like her, criticized, not Islam, but the people who practised cruelty.

        I chanced in on a travel with Naipaul from Port of Spain to London ten years ago. A grumbling charmer, he gifted me a signed copy of his book. Amazing man. RIP
