In Opinion Filmmaker Taylor Brodsky writes, “Do his father and I ask surgeons to drill into my son’s head and thread an electrode array into his cochlea, all for the sake of sound? We weren’t asking political questions. We were asking human ones.”https://nyti.ms/2AMUixh

A big problem with having the implant are the people who see you as cured now but at best you pick up 50%. I knew quite a few deaf people at college and my opinion was it's better to treat them as fully deaf. So that hard chose of 50% over $10K+ surgery

They often get left out of the Deaf community and culture because of that 50% too. After learning a little about it in my linguistics class I understand why it is a dilemma.

Bruce Ohr and Wife, Hillary Clinton, Sally Yates, Chris Steel involved. AFTER Steel was fired in feeding corrupt FBI info to delegitimize Trump election. Steel fed Ohr info to leak to NY Times and other press as well as FBI. Possible felonies criminal investigation to come.

I can’t believe this is still a topic for debate! Hearing loss is a disease and should be treated as a disease. Do people second thought treating diabetes? A lot of work needs to be done on raising awareness.

As a #cochlearimplant #surgeon who was born #deaf, uses #cochlearimplants, and is all too familiar with the issues raised by this film, there remains much to be done to teach people how to achieve with #hearingloss. Devices aren’t cures.

Speaking as someone who is steadily losing their hearing, I have mixed feelings. On one hand I would like to keep my hearing with one of these devices. On the other there are so many amazing deaf and HoH people out there that show so much love and support that I don’t care...
