In some defense, people do try to get over on salons a lot, a whole damn lot! Just like a restaurant, eat half the food, then shout, I don't like it, give me free. Only five dollars, I would have let them walk and said don't come back.

I used to work at a jazz bar/restaurant in college. Over half clientele was black. Can't count the times black patrons tried that shit. Eat 3/4 of meal, then complain. Almost always shitty tippers. I can't imagine trying to operate a business in a neighborhood like E. Flatbush.

My wife is Asian, she owns a Salon, I will word it as so, it happens pretty often. Not even because of bad service, people want something for free or less even though prices are posted. I call 911, usually always get paid before the cops show up.

There is a long history of tension between Asian Americans and African Americans, even here in California. For decades, African American youths have victimized elderly Asian Americans. The tensions during the Rodney King riots illustrated the reality. I've seen it in SF.

Brandi, thanks for sharing. I remember Latasha's story. I share a story with you:https://hoodline.com/2017/09/81-year-old-woman-shoved-off-bayview-muni-platform?utm_source=story&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=stories …

"The 81yr old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital." (Thank God!) Latasha is dead & Miller is guaranteed to serve her time. Soon Ja Du is free. Continual double standards of justice against Blacks is the source of tension.

Hey, I'm on board with you. I have often spoken out about those injustices. However, my original post was meant to point out a much deeper issues taking place between groups of people, not say that one group is justified over another. I apologize if it came across that way.

Thanks for the clarification & apology. Your statement demonized Black youth instead of pointing out the deeper issue. Also, I don't take what you do w/ a grain of salt. Thank you for doing your part. Peace & blessings to you & yours.

Tough call on who support here for the left. This is when identity politics is tough, if only some white people were involved you'd have your enemy all set. Good luck tripping over yourself finding a way not to offend a precious minority. Hahahahaha douches

You know racism can include other races . White people are not the basis of racism. It’s not ONLY a white thing.

What this has to do with race? Pulling for straws here.

Hi Rebecca. The phrase is “grasping” for straws, but I understood what you meant. You have to look at this incident in the wider context of racial tensions in the neighborhood. I think it’s almost certain race played a role here.

I live in Brooklyn. Pay the ppl for their service. African Americans like to do that. They go to Caribbean restaurants and do the same thing. Curse and say they won’t pay for the food. So I don’t think it’s race.
