Can we talk about qualifications? Or is that secondary to identity politics?

Voting based on a candidates genitalia is just as bigoted and stupid as voting based on skin melanin levels. I vote based on the candidates policy beliefs

We have been conditioned to believe that the “old white guy” politician is more qualified to represent us. That is false. Being a politician does NOT equate to being a good leader or a good barometer of morality. Vote for candidates who actually represent us.
-
Sometimes it's the old white guy that has policies that best represent you. Sometimes it's a woman, or person of any race (young or old). This is kinda why I find this article redundant/stupid. Vote for the person whose policy aligns with your political ideals, no other reason.

Vote for ideas, not identities.

NYT defends Jeong saying that they don't condone her tweets, that they were in defense against harassment, then doubles down by promoting the same shallow rhetoric. Is it not possible to promote women without bashing "old white men" as the go-to argument?

Maybe because Old White Men DESERVE to be bashed for using their political power to CONTROL WOMEN ! So, yeah, it time to get rid of A LOT of old white men in Congress.

Yikes,

You're still denigrating white people after the scandal of the last few days? Wow.

Man or woman, it shouldn't matter! It should be about who is most qualified and the people want!

"boring old white guy"? Campaigning like that is a sure way to lose an election. We need candidates, man or woman, who don't start their campaigns by insulting a large segment of the voters.

I take her point and I support her, though she undercuts her own argument here. I doubt anyone has actually said to her, " … some boring old white guy …." I mean, really ?
-
I think she is doing the dreadful paraphrase quote.
