Dozens of our international readers said they were surprised to learn that the freedoms that many children abroad take for granted aren’t universal in the United Stateshttps://nyti.ms/2KoV0Al

At age 6, I was taking public transportation alone. Before then, I was running errands to local groceries and bringing back my parent's change and climbing tall trees. At age 7, I was already cooking and my parents have never-ever supervised me while playing.

Same, same. Bag broke carrying groceries home. Still can not remember how I got the few things home. Yet another time I was so young sent to buy salt (mom baked &sold it to the community) I came home w/candy saying not enough left for the salt! Parents told that story over & over

Hahaha! You made my day with that last one. I would go to the groceries, buy whatever I was told and then used the change to get sweets.

Thank you NYPravda for once again stabbing We the People in the back and betraying this great nation which has been such a blessing to you. You prove once again why NYPravda is only good for the bottom of bird cages. Some things the world calls freedoms we call abuse.

Oh, STFU TL. We call it abuse, because we're paranoid control freaks who believe tabloid headlines instead of living in the real world. Your attitude doesn't match the age your pic shows. Anyone over 50 in this country enjoyed the same freedoms as a kid, without harassment.
