Maybe the neighborhoods would be revitalized if the needles, human waste and homeless problem was solved?

These cafeterias employ local people and are supplied by local businesses. It doesn't make sense.

So workers will have to spend most of their lunch break waiting in line trying to get food, and then have no time to eat it, and no chance to actually relax on their lunch break.

Perhaps they could compromise. How about just banning employers from providing straws to their employees?

On the other hand - many of these tech companies received tax abatements because they would bring commerce to the local area. Well, you can't have it both ways. Perhaps their tax abatements should be revoked?

I don’t know if I can get onboard. If a company has a cafeteria and gives their employees dinner, that is a perk that should not be taken away. That is also a perk that should not be regulated by a city, county, or state governing bodies.

My favorite part about this thread is the yuppies crying about the homeless problem when reports have shown the alarming number of homelessness within the tech industry ironically because rent is so high thanks to who?........ transplant yuppies.pic.twitter.com/MpcHyO5Syc

Thundering 🙄. How about pop up diners on the premises that get to rotate thru to directly support entrepreneurs? Would be a good way to help start ups instead of banning a business format.

But San Francisco should allow these company cafeterias. It is healthier not having to walk the streets.

The surrounding infrastructure can’t support that incredibly high number of new patrons during the lunch rush. Plus many folks (👋) would opt to bring lunch from home anyway.
