But it’s not even “the new normal.” This is “the new ‘nice’“. It’s not like we’ve suddenly stabilized - more CO2 and methane are going into the atmosphere daily, w/ less resilience remaining to mitigate & absorb. In 2050, the weather of 2018 will be a happy memory without action!

There has never been a normal in climate. It's dynamic, always changing, always has been.
Let’s see if there is a repeat of this weather next year... let’s hope it’s not a new trend..
There is no "new normal" in rapidly changing climate. Once, if ever, we quit emissions we may be able to stabilize to some new normal.
