        The environmentalists in California will not allow the clearing of the underbrush in forests. So it collects on the ground and acts as quick starting kindling that of course contributes to all of the fires.         I grew up in Redding, and know the area very well. It is heartbreaking to see notices on FB from dozens of friends and family that they are looking for shelter, and that their houses are gone.
