I'm sorry to say this, but the french culture has a very misogynist underline and in the cinema industry is even more evident...as if that letter signed by actress against the #MeToo movement wasn't a good example enough 😒

Hello to you, I put the French Minister of Women's Rights in copy ... We attack rapists in France, but only when they are poor and weak, never when they are powerful, so ... Cc @MarleneSchiappa

“But few celebrities have spoken up in support of her.” Is this what determines an individuals allegations valid?

Well.. A) we are not in court of law..anyone can come forward with a claim. If Besson is innocent he will file for defamation. B) Rape victims are to be trusted on a get go. C) Not having support encourages such behavior. D) People who have great power are not used to hear "NO"

It is delicate to navigate between the respect of the plaignants' voice and the respect of the accused's presumed innocence. In that regard, it is better not to comment on a specific case. But discussion on a wider spectrum does exist.

So in France we have this universal principle, maybe you've heard of it: innocent until proven guilty. And we're proud of it. Please keep your lessons to yourself.

Given the caliber of actresses who complain about sexual abuse, I'm starting to lean with the following definition of "actress rape" : when your blowjobs weren't worth the acting career you got. I might be wrong, but I don't see Meryl Streep or Nicole Kidman complaining.
