The only time I’ll be happy in life is right before death. Makes perfect sense

Why? I have a pretty good idea.

As a palliative care volunteer I had witnessed this often. Believing?

God bless you Stephanie, for such important work!
-
Thank you. It was extremely rewarding. I was blessed to hear many war stories, held a dementia patient’s hand for an entire day as he was dying believing I was his young wife, and witnessed ultimate devotion and love between husbands and wives. It made me a better person.
-
That's really amazing! It takes a special person to fill that role. Its all a part of life's purpose.

I think it has something to do with loved ones from the other side coming to help them with the transition. When they see them, they perk up.
-
I have witnessed something that supports your theory, you might be right.

This is true. Seen it many times myself. In fact we were always wary when a very ill patient suddenly perked up.

It’s silly of them, they think they can show off to the devil how cool they are... all he’s interested in is the texture of their skin and how nice it will react to hellfire. Most are going to hell... all sick people do
-
There is no hell, if you have ever read the bible you would know that. Don't skip your meds

This is a fascinating phenomenon. Intriguingly we also see it in the wider animal and plant Kingdoms - fruit trees having that last bumper crop before dying is exceptionally common! The last hurrah?

Because they are happy that their suffering in this awful life has finally come to a close?

I’m sorry for whoever extinguished your flame

Perhaps the body realizes it’s going to go, so it releases endorphins and such to make it enjoyable and not painful?

Yep, they perk up, I've seen the symptoms clear up. Then a few days later, they're gone.

Have seen this often with companion animals. It can be confusing and bittersweet to witness.
