Many gravely ill people often perk up right before dying. Nobody knows why.https://nyti.ms/2LHP1el

Thank you. It was extremely rewarding. I was blessed to hear many war stories, held a dementia patient’s hand for an entire day as he was dying believing I was his young wife, and witnessed ultimate devotion and love between husbands and wives. It made me a better person.

I think it has something to do with loved ones from the other side coming to help them with the transition. When they see them, they perk up.

This is true. Seen it many times myself. In fact we were always wary when a very ill patient suddenly perked up.

It’s silly of them, they think they can show off to the devil how cool they are... all he’s interested in is the texture of their skin and how nice it will react to hellfire. Most are going to hell... all sick people do

This is a fascinating phenomenon. Intriguingly we also see it in the wider animal and plant Kingdoms - fruit trees having that last bumper crop before dying is exceptionally common! The last hurrah? #lasthurrah!
