Her dead calf resting on her nose, an orca whale has swum in mourning for more than 3 days in the Pacific Northwest. "I think she’s just grieving, unwilling at this point to let the calf go, like, 'Why, why, why?' "https://nyti.ms/2AgoVuN

If people stop going right now it would be worse for the whales. They cannot survive in the wild at this point and with no funding what would happen to them. Sea world has agreed these are the last Orca, they will not breed or capture anymore. So I'm thankful for that at least.

Why not have them live out their last days as a species with some shred of decency, out in the wild, instead of being put in a glass enclosure for our own amusement (and profit).

They cannot survive in the wild they have been in captivity too long or born in captivity. If you release them they would die, they don't know how to hunt they would starve to death, beach themselves and would not be scared of humans. There would be no dignity in that death.

heart breaking! They reason why is that humans damned the rivers and ate all the salmon, so she is starving and their calves are dying. #WashingtonState - stop taking all the chinook salmon! People, stop eating #Salmon - we're killing the #Orcas

That human tragedy has been going for weeks and never should have happened.... yes I’m aware. There was no intention to draw a comparison of sadness.

We shouldn't treat them as anything other than what they are. Murderous monsters. They have feelings, that makes it even worse when you really think about it. Why feel empathy for them?
