Good for them, but the flip side is what about the kids and parents that feel it’s violating their kids rights to have an opposite gender kid in the locker room or bathroom? Just need to have separate bathrooms etc. for each kid. The only solution.

What if parents/kids just leave trans kids alone&accept them for who they are? There was a time during early days school desegregation when white parents didn’t want their kids in bathrooms or locker rooms with people of color. Some even moved or put kids in private schools.
-
Point being, if you don’t like your children being in schools with trans kids, then those parents should check their bigotry....move or whatever. But, forcing trans children to be alone in some of the few spaces where children freely socialize, isn’t kinder...it’s lazy.
-
That’s not the issue. So w should have open locker rooms for all kids, all genders together? Any age? Remove all sexual identity?
-
Let children use the lockeroom that aligns with their gender identity. It doesn’t have to be that complicated. 95% of locker rooms won’t see much change.
-
Ok so change for the 5%, on either side? That will never work. You must not understand parents not wanting their 8 year old daughter exposed to male genitals in a locker room?
-
In most schools Asians make up less than 5% of the population. But,they deserve to be treated as equals. This isn’t about numbers, it’s about respect. I just said the % in order to press how much time people are spending talking about an issue that will largely not affect them.
-
Ok 12 year olds. Or bathrooms where they may see something inappropriate. And what do Asians have to do with anything? It’s not an ethnicity issue. If we shouldn’t spend time talking about all aspects, why make laws about it then.

I just don't really understand the point. Bathrooms are based on sex, not gender. I'd rather live in a world where men could wear dresses and proudly call themselves men then have to retrain to think in gender - which doesn't really exist - when I've been thinking sex all along.

If a man is going to walk into a women's changeroom to assault women they would do it regardless of any laws, but be transphobic i guess.

Also take it from a cis woman, I have never been sexually assaulted in a public bathroom by a trans person or a cis person. Stop hiding behind the guise of "but what about the women and children" and just say you hate trans people.
-
This isn't about men being in women's changerooms, because again if anyone wanted to go into any bathroom to hurt someone or be a creep they wouldn't wait for a law to pass to do that.

THIS. IS. HUGE. Transgender people should be allowed to be comfortable. And for all of you people saying that people will take advantage of this to sexually harass people, I will assume that you have never actually been in a social setting before.

I assume you have never met a trans person. They're people just like me and you. They're CHILDREN. Just like your daughter.
-
Also, people aren't stupid enough to see some random dude walk into a girl's bathroom and be OK with it if said guy says "I'm trans."
-
This ruling says you cant even challenge that "man" because that would be crossing some red line about gender identity... You can now be sued by "him" for harassment and discrimination. This is b.s.
-
Tell me where it says they can't be "challenged" in the article.
-
The ruling says it is now a civil right. A violation of Civil Rights to deny them use of the other sex bathroom. QED they will sue your butt.
-
They will only sue your butt if you deny trans people the right to go to the bathroom they want (so making a law denying trans people the right to do so). It doesn't mean you can't ask guys why they're in the girls' bathroom, or vice versa.
