When Roe v. Wade was decided, it wasn't the lightning rod it is now. So how did abortion rights become one of the most divisive issues of our time?https://nyti.ms/2A2u1e1

Because it went from abortion for medical reasons, age reasons and others to...oh...i:'m pregnant, silly me, I'll just rid of it. It morphed into wholesale murder for convenience sake.

The "reason" is none of your business. None. Zero. Women who choose abortion have not come to that decision lightly. It's a major medical procedure. Carrying a child and giving birth are also huge risks and responsibility. If you don't want abortion, don't have one.

Abortion is everyone's business. Maybe the individual reason a particular woman has a baby is none of my business. But wholesale murder should be everyone's concern and business.

It's divisive because having a child in the US is a cheap ticket to insurmountable debt and poverty.

And adoption is a priceless gift to the millions of families wanting children but unable to have them.

If that were true, there would be no children in the foster care system. You don’t get to use fertile women as unwilling participants as the solution to your infertility issues.

You people really do see children as a commodity. Wow. BTW, all healthy newborns that are up for adoption get adopted in this country. And Christians are more than twice as likely to adopt (guess they're just less fertile.)

Proving my point that beyond the fetal/newborn stage the religious right doesn’t give a damn about anyone. There are 400,000 children in foster care right now. ‘Christians’ would take care of each and every one of them first if they were truly concerned about life.

If women want an abortion...they will get one regardless of if it is legal or not. The real problem is will it be gotten in a dirty hotel room by a quack or in a sanitary clinic or hospital with trained physicians. Before Roe v. Wade...many women died.
