First of all, nice reply. Second, I come from the Tarbell's of Cincinnati, rare to see that name in the space of cyber.

Same WeWork boss who violates its employees’ rights under National Labor Relations Act, engages routinely in wage and hour violations, and forces staff to sign unlawful non-compete clauses. Sad!

A UK football club tried this, the owner was vegan so only had vegan food on offer in the staff canteen. The result, a queue of players outside Gregg's buying steak pies.

Title of article is not entirely accurate, my BFF works for them. They're just not providing meat any longer for employees. It's fantastic that
@Virgin and@WeWork are adopting these#MeatFree policies! I wish more companies would follow their lead!#GoVeg#SaveThePlanet - 1 more reply

An employer can tell employees what to eat? You can't pay for meals contingent on it being a certain type. If one has a meal policy, it has to cover any meal, not just a meal choice. As a vegetarian, I find that disturbing. What's next? No coffee?
-
You find that disturbing as a vegetarian? So you dont have....reasons? Of course a business has the right to say what it will and won't pay for for its employees. If you dont like it you canalways, I dont know....not work there?
-
You sound like an intelligent person. However you missed the point & meandered. The idea is much broader. If an employer is contributing to meals & the condition is only if it's vegetarian meals, it's marginalizing non-vegetarians. It's a lawsuit. One that's so easy to win.

I eat meat, but am still okay with this. It's his company. It's no different from a company offering ONLY meat for their employees. Or worse, soda and chips (like most companies do). Don't like it? Quit working for them. Easy.

The policy demeans workers, who should have some modicum of control over their lives, including the basic human right of controlling what one eats. For those who eat animal protein, this is a pay reduction. So this esp hurts the lower paid workers hardest.

If companies can ban smoking in the workroom why can’t they ban meat-eating -especially if they’re paying for your lunch. Plus they’re still offering fish, seafood and dairy products so I think the employees will be just fine. I mean, it’s one friggin meal a day! Jeez!pic.twitter.com/x5Mrqh9cyY
