Democrats are hoping for a "wave election" to sweep them to a House majority, but the GOP is mostly well above sea levelhttps://nyti.ms/2ux959O

No it’s not. It’s real people. The left now thinks everything is Russia when everyday people want strong border and don’t think minors as young as 10 should get sex change.

No one expected the Ds to gain 15 House of Delegate seats in VA because the districts there are heavily gerrymandered. But they did, including 1 Trump district. Read why this analysis is wrong here: http://wasoncenter.cnu.edu/

Local elections in off years are totally different. There's far more money and far different demographics turning out in November.

I skimmed it. The fact you're focusing on overall net likability with Trump at all is concerning. For one thing midterms are a show of turnout for the base. If you compare Trump to Obama in 2010, you'll see his base loves him 10% more and independents are virtually the same.

I realize Obama lost hard in 2010, obviously, but that ignores the structural difference which is what this NYT article is talking about.

Republicans had a 50 seat lead in 2010 created but only a 51% majority.

The destruction of the VRA and the increasing unreliability of polling due to telephony changes is causing real issues.
