Though largely symbolic, Israel's new nationality law omits any mention of democracy or enunciation of the principle of equality, in what critics called a betrayal of Israel’s foundational documenthttps://nyti.ms/2NtV1EZ

It does not at all seem largely symbolic to me. It is repugnant. It is dehumanizing.

Just on the Nazi track. The world is already too far ahead for such outdated and old fashioned doctrines that have no place in the Global Village. No one objects to a Jewish state, but don't degrade others that are there. These will not withstand the test of time.

The problem with your position is in the self contradictory term ‘global village.’ The globe is, by definition, not a village. The local and the super-local function differently. We shouldn’t let lazy reasoning lead us to poor government.

This term is widely used as the communication technology and travel facilities have made the world a small place, hence the term Global Village. The political and geographical distinctions still stand. Like it is said now that if America sneezes the world catches cold.

I think the problem though, is that the world has not really been made a small place. Instead, we have been given the tools to concoct that illusion.

The individual human still has the same or relevantly similar attention and relational capacity as a 100 years ago. Policy should reflect this. The same goes for the structure of communities, municipalities, and nations. They only work at certain sizes and they fct. differently.

I'm ethnically Jewish.Every relative still in Poland during WWII was wiped out by the Nazis. But I will never support Israel, where non-Jews have been treated in the same way Jews have been treated for most of 5K years. Shame on American Jews who don't speak against this.

Not surprising that when a demagogue becomes President, partly through the efforts of rich ultra-conservative Jews, he ignores human rights & democracy to side with ultra-conservative Jews, who think theirs is the only country in the world that should be able to race-discriminate

Well, atleast the ruse is over in Israel. It's been standard outside of it for some time now that Israel is not a democracy but a state for Jews. Can we Americans stop supporting it now since a liberal democracy cannot also be a ethnostate?
