NOBODY messes with the NYS Dept of Taxation. These folks are ruthless about getting their money. I say this with some admiration, too. Everyone there is kind, but firm and incredibly organized.

Naive in the extreme. Mega rich individuals and companies register their assets offshore where NHS dept of Taxation can't touch them.

I beg to differ. It is time the American authorities woke up and forced the closure of offshore tax havens. The rich people who use them are causing the rise of taxes for ordinary people, and ensuring that society does not benefit as it should.

Lol, I didn’t vote for trump! But okay. I’m still showing respect. He still out president! If we don’t show respect then other countries won’t either.

Trump can't pardon anyone (including himself) from state prosecution and conviction, but he can from federal.

I am aware. My feeling is that the federal, in particular the legislative portion of our government, taking a stand would be more meaningful. Totally for what New York is doing. I just want more.

Agreed. I'm sure the NY investigators will hand over whatever they find to the FBI, since there's basically no chance whatever they uncover does not show violation of federal law. It's nice to know there is a back-up plan in action!

Foundations are often set up as a means to tax dodging. They are registered in offshore tax havens with the owners kept secret. £20bn PER YEAR lost through these means.
