Nurses asked New York City to be included on a list of physically taxing jobs to qualify for early retirement. They were denied three times. On Wednesday, they won a $20.8 million settlement.https://nyti.ms/2La8O76

I hope that this includes support for the “nurses aides” who do the heavy lifting and unmentionable tasks.

Nurses are some of the hardest working people on planet Earth, and the least thanked for all they do in virtually every medical facility. Good for them! 🎉

Not the ones you see strolling around nyc hospitals and now nyt will complain about cost of care.

This is great for city-employed nurses. Private hospitals usually denote nursing as a physically taxing job. We are paid fairy well (not enough imo but I’m not going to cry poor) but work incredibly long shifts and have very complex jobs. Nurses rock!

Going to be a hell of a shortage of nurses. The aides who really do the heavy lifting get screwed. How much is this costing taxpayers annually?
