Richard Ojeda is an outspoken populist running for Congress who has drawn comparisons to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And for some Democrats, he’s a model on how to win in Trump country.https://nyti.ms/2uALwwT

He’s doing what is best for the people of West Virginia. I’m a Republican and I would vote for Richard Ojeda 🇺🇸

That's an incredibly myopic view and as a WV native I'd ask you to seriously reconsider. West Virginia's economy is dependent upon coal and it is critical that the plan to transition off of coal is very deliberate and that there are future jobs and infrastructure for the people.

I think those in the coal industry should be trained to do other things before losing their jobs. I hope that can work out. "Humanity didn't advance beyond the stone age because it ran out of rocks."

I 100% agree. I believe strongly that our country needs a completely sustainable clean energy infrastructure to remain relevant. That doesn't happen overnight, esp. in WV and voting for a progressive that doesn't get that for them is like voting for a layoff with no new job.

I had to find something else to do several years ago when most of the west coast commercial salmon fishery was shut down.

I understand where you're coming from. I had to leave WV to learn how to be an architect b/c it wasn't a viable career. However I think it's important to understand how coal relates to the culture and history of West Virginia and what impact it would have to remove it hastily.

If you would go to his FB page and watch the videos he’s made you’ll see he’s not so much “pro coal” as he is wanting to make sure people have jobs. The area he represents has nothing. Nothing. They need something even if it’s coal. To get off coal we’d need big 1/2
