He released a rap album 11 years ago. The lyrics criticize capitalism and America’s history of racial injustice. His Republican opponent is trying to use them against him.https://nyti.ms/2zLwysV

I’m in #NY19, lived here for 35+ years, don’t fit the demographic of a rap fan (unless you count The Clash) and I’m as white as my avatar. I’ll be voting for @DelgadoforNY19 and against the hate rhetoric @RepJohnFaso’s campaign is spewing. There’s no place for racism here.

Indeed they do, they've written off the African American voter as well in favor of illegal immigrants. African-American turnout is going to be at record lows for the midterms, mark my words.

Sad but true. I live in SoCal and I saw an elderly black couple handing out anti Sanctuary state petition to sign which I gladly signed. Seems like Democrats are forsaking Americans in general over their growing new voter block.

I live in SoCal as well, I'm actually proud of San Diego and the other areas of the state that are fighting the sanctuary law. I can't stand any of the candidates for mayor. I just pray to God that it's not Antonio (La Raza) Villaraigosa. 🙏

Yeah, it's been really encouraging to see people rise up and unite against this lawlessness.

It's pretty rich for @JohnFasoNy to criticize anyone running for office based on language used on a recording from the past that Faso finds offensive. He didn't seem to have a problem with that in 2016.

It's cool as fuck that his raps were about racial injustice and the pitfalls of capitalism. That should be a positive. I could /somewhat/ (not really) understand the issue if his raps were about partying and sex, but even party rap is good to vibe to.

No rapper should EVER be given a single vote, this is democracy so let him run...but don’t let him win. Rap is a cancer in our society that has corrupted the younger generation. It should be banned completely.
