How come Black folks in Germany & UK & France don't have a "black voice"? Has to do with slavery here & lack of acceptance & identity & human rights.

What is with all the racist black power films coming out this summer? Its like there is some social engineering going on.

It's a norm. In order to ensure politeness towards ourselves, we have to change our voice. When I call my online teachers or I call customer service, I change my voice to make sure that they're not getting irritated a/o annoyed at "another black person calling" them. Sad but real

Raised in Newark, NJ. Bussed to white schools in Bloomfield in the 60's with my black classmates I speak black. I think of myself as the n word. I censor me to get by with white people and crack up black people if we're alone.

'critiquing whiteness through vocal imitation.' In a sane world, that would be a fancy way of saying 'racism.'

Exactly. See how much commerce your business does when your employees speak like they live in the most illiterate sections of Baltimore, Detroit, LA, Chicago, NY, Atlanta, etc. The same holds true for white folks who speak ‘Appalachia’. Not getting the job. Not racial: logic.
