Personally, i see nothing wrong with this. They did comit crimes, why should they get 5 star dining? If the state is over budgeting for prisoners food and theres extra money left, go for it! A wardens job is no walk in the park.

They were underfed and those are public funds that belong to public programs, not in the pockets of sheriffs to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Alabama acting like a tin pot, third world country. Jesus.

Why? As a taxpayer, I'm offended by your comment. I don't want my hard earned money going to provide 5 star dining options. Give them a variety of soups, breads and meat twice a week. That's all these low life's deserve.

Yeah, all those nonviolent drug offenders are such terrible people. I feel much better knowing that money was spent on a sheriff’s beach house instead. 🙄

Because Alabama had the 4th highest meal ration per prisoner in the US in 2017. Food is cheap in Alabama so there was lots of money left to split up. These sheriffs and wardens don't get paid much and have a difficult life. Nothing wrong with taking a few bucks to feed your famil

Are you insane? This money comes from taxpayers, why on earth shouldn’t it be returned to them?

Not to mention the free labor prisoners produce. Working for penny’s on the dollar while cutting labor cost for corporations #moderndayslavery... it’s sad that you think this is justifiable for anyway to be treated this way.

People ask why are sheriffs banned from taking unspent money for prisoners’ meals. Why would you need a law like that? Becuase there are laws against having sex with chickens in a public spaces People do stupid & corrupt shit.

Did the sheriffs declare the income they pocketed from depriving the prisoners of food to the IRS. This could be tax evasion.

Good food? I been to jail before and the food isn’t good or 5star it’s below average school lunch breakfast and dinner at best. It’s okay to get free labor from prisoner but not to feed them. What happen to prison being a place for rehabilitation not punishment #modernslavery
