When a Seattle company asked to lease some of their land for a solar energy project, a Washington couple jumped at the idea, and the prospect of receiving regular rent checks. They did not anticipate the blowback.https://nyti.ms/2KPebbl

Just sounds like all the old folks in the area collectively spat out the straw they where chewing and started yelling about 'the good old days'.

Same people who decry zoning regs and scream "Private property rights!" bitch when neighbors invoke same rights.

Good article. I live in a metropolis. Am very much in favor of wind and solar. Makes me realize I have little awareness of how it effects those in rural areas that have to live with it.

This happens with every new technology or change. People are afraid of change and don’t see the bigger picture. It’s sad. Almost like the “evil eye” witchcraft if you don’t follow customs and mores of the village.

Typical behavior of democrats. Wanna save the environment - just as long as someone else is doing it and they don't have to look at it.

Seems like a no-brainer. Renewable energy is needed going forward and opposition to it is mind-bottling. It must be exhausting trying to stifle innovation at every turn.

If the neighbors want a farm, they should put in the time, money, and labor to run it.
