Trump acts like a mob boss. Can’t make 2% GDP? Then I’ll make it 4%

One would assume that if such a demand was serious it would have been made much earlier and that it would be backed up by something. NATO is already outspending Russia 12 to 1. It’s seems that he just made this up.

No, the numbers are there. The US is footing the bill. Looks like you want to think it's made up.

Trump pushed this to 4% because he knows nobody will do it and then that will be his excuse to pull out of NATO. This is not rocket science ppl!

Mr Trump thinks the NATO will collapse without his funds so he must dictate and bully them. They will survive, but Mr Trump will be out with America as an ally. NATO is as much in the interest of America.

Of course they won't spend that much. Only the US is dumb enough to spend all that money on defense at the expense of its citizens

Or maybe just spend less across the board since our Military is so ridiculously bloated and inefficient.

Once again, Trump has this wrong. The 2% spending target is not a current commitment but a goal set for 2024, still six years away. No one is "delinquent" or owes the US any payments. https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1016729137409486853 …

Time he began calling the shots. When I was a boy in WW2, US air gunners had a life of 9 days from their arrival in UK. That's why I went down to help on 9/11 and spent 6 years of Fridays working as a volunteer Accountant at Belle Vue Hospital NYC.
