Was the reality-TV rollout of Judge Brett Kavanaugh informative? No, and that's just how it was designed to be, @poniewozik writes.https://nyti.ms/2u7J2Wo

I still don’t think Dumpster should get to pick since he is under investigation.

I just don't understand why most of the media (print and television) covered it just as he wanted it covered. The finalists? The finale? Wow.

Yeah, report on his choice after he makes it, not the spectacle to distract us from all the bad shit that's going on.

It informed the world that the office of President of the United States of America has been reduced to the status of a trivial reality tv show

It was very informative. The first words out of Kavanaugh’s mouth (“No president has ever consulted more widely or talked with more people from more backgrounds to seek input about a Supreme Court nomination“) were obvious lies showing hame has taken the oath of loyalty to Trump.

It was just his opinion. Like the many future options he will contribute to on SCOTUS over the next 30 years.

He didn’t phrase it as an opinion. So I guess you’re happy with an activist judge who will use his opinions to inform his decisions (because you believe they align with yours). You’re just a stupid hypocrite.

And don’t count your chickens (you’re probably a Sharron Angle fan and will need them to trade for healthcare). Rand Paul is the dark horse. He doesn’t like the Bush White House and its torture. Let’s see what’s in Kavanaugh’s papers.

It’s a good thing Obama didn’t pull a made-for-TV stunt like this when he was pushing Obamacare and had all those doctors put on lab coats on the White House law..... oh wait.

Actually it was informative because it presented a publicly unknown nominee & transitioned him to a public persona w a family & a philosophy of life outside of Law - as most judgeships are publicly elected for that same reason. And to prepare for a battle over who Kavanaugh is.
