Why the wait?

Straws? You Democrats can be told to believe and do anything.pic.twitter.com/gxBB1TEAHv
-
wha? huh? he asked "Why the wait?" and you turned this into a weird political battle instantly! wtf? how in the world does his question qualify him as a "Democrat"?
-
It's a political message. The Democrats are using it to push division between earth lovers (Democrats) and the supposed earth haters(Republicans). Do you think it's really about straws and animals?
-
Yes it really is. It’s about billions of pieces of plastic shit in the oceans and when the food chain collapses nobody is going to care about stupid ideology.
-
It's like anything else... Is a decision EVER made without money being the determining factor. If you said yes, you are mistaken.
-
I just scoffed at your stupid tweet and nobody paid me to do it.

How many straw factory workers will be out of a job. I’m going to go hoard straws now.

Eco friendly straws will take their place and already exist. Ta da!pic.twitter.com/t6GDDkyetb

Yes, paper straws. It’s always lovely to have a bit of soggy paper with your Frappuccino.

Sorry to see you completely leave out the impact of straw-bans on the disabled. While I appreciate the attempts to reduce the use of plastic and work to avoid it in my own life, our "fixes" for common problems sometimes create new problems. Please look into this aspect.

Paper straws...as mentioned in previous comments
-
Paper straws don’t bend and still function well. I hadn’t thought about this aspect. Thanks
@kkoth -
I hadn’t either. I’d been a big fan of the straw ban until I happened upon a thread yesterday written by someone affected by it. Opened my eyes.

There is always the option to buy a reusable, washable rvs straw. These are already bent if you want. Carry your own and there is no need for plastic straws...
-
That’s certainly a great option for those who like straws, but don’t need them. If you forget it, you’ll be fine. For those who can’t drink without them it’s an added burden. If it’s forgotten, they have no options.
-
An added burden??? How? They don't weigh anything and you just carry them in your bag. If even, they are more convenient, you have one available at all times. Let's say you want to buy some soda at the supermarket, no straws there, but you have your own
