Fact check: Trump repeated his criticism that other NATO countries spend less than their fair share of the cost of the defense treaty. That’s not how the alliance works.https://nyti.ms/2znyp6L

It’s also true that the United States is always finding a reason to bomb brown people. How come the US doesn’t bomb any white people. Also the US Is dependent on weapons of war manufacturing for jobs. Let’s be nicer, happier, and spend all that battle time getting laid instead.

The man is so intellectual deficient in matters that affect our national security - he is dangerous.

He wants to treat the foundation of the alliance that won the Cold War, and cemented the US as the leader of the free world, like some two bit mob "protection racket."

Sleight of hand for his withdrawal of the NATO, he is no longer welcome, we European believe in development assistance and common defense strategies, instead of war lord behavior:

He does have a point - most NATO members are relying on about five other countries who are meeting their spending targets. But it's never about how much money you spend. To say he's wrong because his precise figures may be is misleading.

Instead of whining about other NATO countries' percentage of GDP on defense, Trump has the option to reduce the US's percentage of GDP on defense. The NATO 2% GDP for defense is a GUIDELINE, not a requirement. And it was to be achieved by 2024. And that's still a few years off.

Also very true. However, I wish I felt confident enough about the world situation to be comfortable about cutting defense.

There's nothing in good faith about Trump denigrating NATO allies in order to make Putin happy and giving him tacit approval to start shit with the neighbors. It's all a pretext to give Russia greater influence.

"The United States spent $618 billion on its own defense last year after adjusting for inflation-or 3.57 percent of its GDP," well over the 2% NATO guideline. But it's for its own defense, not for NATO.

How about using the words: "Trump Lies on NATO Spending" as the headline of the story? Stop sugarcoating it. He lies.
