NATO summit meetings were once ritualistic events. They've have become anxiety-producing confrontations where the main object is to avoid long-term damage.https://nyti.ms/2N3XGVQ

It's funny. I spent a week at S.H.A.P.E. for work a couple years ago and spoke to several US military types on assignment there. More than one told me, verbatim, "the United States is NATO" All these countries give a token amount to be able to say, "we contribute too!" Joke

NATO is under 100% of US control. Called the Allied Supreme Command.

That’s because America gave and gave and Europe took and took. Now we have a real president. Obama asked Europeans to pay more and they laughed they are not laughing anymore.

Actually a lot of countries promised to meet the 2% goal by 2024. Because of Obama.

Mr President make sure it's 2% for all by 2024! Take no BS, especially from the Germans & French. Mentioned the fact US troops are still the spearhead of their defense & will die first. If they don't pay up. Pull em! Pissed off US Taxpayer tired of bucking their bill.

Be happy to see it go down if the Europeans would pay their fair share & put more of their troops on the front facing Russia in their own backyard. No more free ride on the back of America taxpayer & military. FAISHARE not in the European vernacular.
