Read the article! She hid she was pregnant, knowing the previous employee had worked less since having a child. Also tried to negotiate part time hours. Sometimes negotiations don't go your way.

Yes, read the article. The part-time hours were to transition from her previous job, and initially suggested by the person hiring her.

Did Mr Eleey suggest working from home for a month, which was requested by Ms Columbus?

No, but he did suggest part time to secure an earlier start date than was ideal for her to leave her previous position. To me this sounds like standard negotiations, which ended abruptly when they learned she just had a baby.

That happened to me many years ago. Offered a job then in the course of post-offer chit chat I mentioned having a young baby and ZAP!

This is nothing new. In modern America, family is supposed to come second to your job. It's those Christian values we always hear about!

Having a baby is distracting for both the mother and father. So why should women be written off as incapable, when men are also placed in similar comprising situations? Also, woman need to make a living too 😡😡😡

Women who did not grow up in the 70’s, are like what?! This isn’t fair 🤭. Thinking all the older women are just bitches and thats why they had such a tough time with the white male establishment through their careers. Everything old is new. /sigh.pic.twitter.com/VHe5U2GSw3

They just let someone go who wasn’t up to the task because of having a child and she never informed them in correspondence that she was pregnant, until she wanted to draw up ‘a part time schedule’ for when she started. She looks manipulative in the article.

        1. Nothing indicates she’s not up to the task. She simply agreed to the schedule he proposed. 2. She is not required by law to do so, rendering repercussions invalid. 3. Again, he suggested this.pic.twitter.com/d4YuzVIs5S
