Every year, a Japanese-American man visits the internment camp in California where he and his family were held when he was a child. His purpose is to remember — and to educate.https://nyti.ms/2KIJ69q

Thank you for this important story about our nation’s recent history. I’ve had the privilege of meeting and photographing a few of the remaining survivors of the Japanese_American_Internment and hearing first hand their narratives. This is history that can not be lost or ignored.pic.twitter.com/au7QV58fp1

The story of Japanese internment in the United States is profoundly relevant to what is happening today with the separation and internment of the asylum-seeking immigrants and their children. We must never forget these atrocities and always seek to do better.

Much like their citizens, countries become "great" by acknowledging their mistakes and learning from them.

It's a shame that the Manzanar is in the remote Eastern Sierras. Every American should walk through this abomination in the oppressive heat of a California Summer and know that it CAN happen here because it HAS happened here. #Resist #EndFamilyDetention #FamiliesBelongTogether

We should do that kind of things at Mexico, the country that doesnt knows his history will repeat It.

One of the worst atrocities during the war because of the way people looked. It’s happening now because people are fleeing persecution and seeking help, but everything is based on the way they look. This country has learned nothing about freedom, friendship & the right to choose

I'm Native. This is a great concept. As our history is lost upon Americans, I was thinking those whose ancestors were forcibly removed should revisit the land that was stolen to remember & educate, but then I realized we'd be arrested for trespassing on private property. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

It's ironic that this story is of course used to cause to think Trump. But in reality this was done by FDR, a Democrat. Not only that a socialist hero of today's liberals. (Crickets)

Maybe that's part of the point genius. Stupid ideas aren't limited to any one party. Right is right and wrong is wrong and if you're so blinded by party loyalty you're part of the wrong.

There's a far cry from what your hero FDR did and what Trump supports. The deportation of illegal immigrants has been US law and policy for 100's of years, including every president Repub or Dem, that includes your other hero Obama. It's unrelated, is the point... Genius.

Again neither I nor the story are comparing the two. Not arguing the legality. Your knee jerk reaction to critical thinking is indicative of a narrow mind. Good luck with that.

The story was only created to feed liberal whiners who in their minds think it's the same thing. You very well know it. 18 months of anti-Trump everything by this "journalist" outfit and many others could only conclude this. Leftists will lie, cheat and steal to get their way.
