Macerata, Italy, once had a reputation for embracing migrants. But the town has turned on them after a killing and a revenge shooting.https://nyti.ms/2KHXsXu

This seemed like a reasonable, objective article from the NYT, no matter what your political stance that’s rare today.

That’s how we Italians work. Generosity in abundance, just don’t take advantage of it, and try to screw us over. I don’t blame them for not taking in anymore immigrants after this experience.

As various countries in Africa continue to be de-stabilized with colonization, corruption Africans will flee in search of stability.Keep the colonizers out of Africa & my ppl would stay. Follow the money trail. Plus this town ALREADY had an issues w/drugs. So don't blame migrants

Wake up man, its 2018 and no one colonizing Africa. You just have the mentality to blame white man for everything.

Stop shaming native Italians who, without their CONSENT, had these people forced on them

Not sure this is actually a story, surely it's not an indication of the overall climate. The migrants situation has been used to create a fake "emergency" for political reasons. Also it was an isolated idiot shooting 4 months ago...

The thing is these migrants are not grateful, they don't assimilate, most are violent when things don't go their way. Plus they demand to be looked after, why are we obligated? They are costing countries too much. They need to all be mass deported.

What?! You mean unfettered mass immigration results in a lot of bad people getting through and causing problems which leads to the local population being wary of all immigrants? Who could have seen that coming?
