The World Health Organization has made "internet gaming" a diagnosable disorder, yet many psychologists are skeptical that it exists at all as a stand-alone problemhttps://nyti.ms/2MHYv6j

Time spend on gaming doesn't define the disorder, just like alcoholism isn't defined by number of pints consumed. It's a bit more complex than these articles make it out to be.

depending on the individual, stimuli can activate different brain regions& have adverse effects. While research is necessary, diagnosis should serve a purpose& not just an unnecessary label.I would be more interested if these individuals are more susceptible to other addictions.

There was a time were all this lgbtq things were also consider as psychological disorders... Maybe some of them are truly suffering from some sort of mental illness, like some gamer are truly addict and need help.

Is it in the most dangerous publication on the planet, the DSM? If so gamers should seek a diagnosis then commit havoc of their choosing. They'll get off.

It’s definitely not a diagnosable disorder and not a stand-alone “condition” of any sorts. WHO clearly has no idea what it is talking about.
