        Trophy hunting has a very, very narrow legitimate use. Some African govts have regulated trophy hunts to cull sick or elderly individual animals, and use proceeds to fund conservation and anti-poaching efforts for the rest of the species. Sadly it's not always so well regulated.

        Nor can I. I certainly can understand why some African governments prefer it to the alternative. But I'll never relate to people who actually think shooting a giraffe makes them some kind of real man.

        Atrocity. Occurs to me that, a la @davidfolkenflik, a reporter could work this horror, FOI the database of the sick big-game "trophy" licensees. etc. Some digging and we'd have more data and visible groups to address. Rich hunters are slaughtering rare, living beauty...
