Can we ignore legacy and donations by parents then too?

Lol a lot of people on here are assuming that institutions will do the right thing when they were not and will not, which is why these measures were taken in the first place.

AA on its face seems unfair to White people, but it’s much more complicated when you actually understand historic oppression and systemic racism. Most right wing white people are too lazy to educate themselves.

Based on your statement. AA isn’t necessary then, because right wing white people are too lazy to educate themselves, therefore will no longer get accepted to college at a equal or greater rate than POC based upon demographic %s.

Are admissions going to be a blinded process now, where names are withheld till the end? How do we guarantee that admissions will be based solely on merit? In such a divided time as this, I don’t trust a system like that.

Are they gonna encourage legacy-blind admissions too? Bc statistically those universities allow in more (rich white) legacy students than Hispanic & black students combined. Guessing they don't have a problem with that tho, right?? 🤔

Affirmative action is an important tool to mitigate the effects of racial inequality seen in all aspects of life in America. Fair treatment is not always the same as equal treatment. This is a small-minded, short-sighted decision based on ignorance & white privilege

I think if you are going to argue that minorities need to better themselves, but the abolish programs to help get them on par with everyone else, you are not consistent with your voiced convictions. Ergo, you are a hypocrite and you have other unvoiced convictions.

Any chance the administration will also urge schools and colleges to ignore legacy students who haven’t merited admission?

Asians have been far exceeding their white counterparts in all acedemic areas, but are still overlooked. That will change.
